Vice-Chair
David Soliday
I’ve attended two institutes, one one a team member and one as a floating liaison that was assigned to a team. I’ve learned a lot from the experiences. ILiADS is a great learning and networking opportunity. It’s truly inspiring to see the sorts of digital scholarship projects going on at other campuses. I would consider it an honor to learn from other members of the steering committee while supporting them this academic year, and then leading the group next year. I see it as a good match to my experience and seminary education, as well as an opportunity to build stronger relationships with colleagues at other schools.
Review Chair

I am pleased to accept the nomination for Review Committee Chair on the ILiADS 2019-2020 Steering Committee. I am interested in serving on the Steering Committee in this position because I know first hand the impact an ILiADS experience can have in the development of a digital scholarship project. I attended ILiADS 2018 as part of a project team-not only was the ILiADS experience invaluable to our project, but the ILiADS experience helped connect our team with a network of colleagues to be inspired by, grow and collaborate with. I returned to ILiADS 2019 as a liaison, again finding the experience of connecting with the community at ILiADS to be a rewarding and inspiring experience. It would be an honor to serve in a position that helps to grow this network and bring innovative minds and their projects into the ILiADS community. I believe that the ILiADS network is playing an important role in shaping Digital Scholarship across the Liberal Arts landscape and I would be honored for the opportunity to lend my skills and talents to continuing to sustain and expand the ILiADS mission.

I am interested in running for Review Committee Chair. I’ve been involved with the ILiADS community since 2015 and am invested in its success and continued growth. In my work as a ILiADS liaison and as a Digital Humanities Librarian at Washington and Lee University, I have experience with digital project development in the liberal arts context. I regularly meet with project teams at all stages to scope their projects, write grants, or strategize next steps. I will bring these skills to the Review Committee in order to appropriately assess proposals and identify needs. ILiADS is more than just a one-week experience, so I am excited to help guide teams through the process.
Catie Heil
I would like to serve on the Steering Committee in the position of Review Committee Chair. I have had the great pleasure of participating in ILiADS in a number of different capacities and have attended every ILiADS since the inaugural institute. Part of my role at Wooster is to help guide students and faculty as they conceive of digital projects, form teams, and begin to plan their work. For the last four years, I’ve worked closely with teams as they’ve executed projects incorporating methods as diverse as TEI, digital curation and publication (Omeka, Scalar), place and time-based projects, oral histories, etc. I’ve also overseen several grant projects in my time here, including our current CLIR grant, for which I am the Principal Investigator. These experiences have given me a broad view of digital scholarship and a close eye for what’s needed to make a project successful. I also have a particular expertise in digital preservation, having served as an expert and then liaison for digital preservation at ILiADS and presented and published on the subject. This background will allow me to carefully review the sustainability of the proposed projects in virtually every phase of development. I have reviewed ILiADS proposals and helped identify and match liaisons to teams for past iterations of ILiADS and I enjoyed the work. I’m thrilled to have been nominated for this position and I’d love to contribute to next year’s ILiADS as Review Committee Chair.
Communications Coordinator
Rachel Starry
I’m excited to be considered for the position of Communication Coordinator, in large part because I’m deeply invested in the growth and future development of ILiADS and am committed to its mission of advancing collaborative, project-based digital scholarship. In my past ILiADS roles as a Liaison and Liaison Coordinator, I have witnessed the tremendous generosity and capacity of this community in supporting digital scholarship at the summer institute and beyond, and look forward to building on the work of stakeholders and this past year’s Steering Committee in developing our online presence and strengthening our networks of communication.
Liaison Coordinator
Raven Bishop
I am pleased to accept the nomination for Liaison Chair on the ILiADS 2019-2020 Steering Committee. I am interested in serving on the Steering Committee in this position because I know first hand the impact an ILiADS liaison can have in the development of a digital scholarship project-our 2018 project team benefited immensely from our liaison’s skills, talents and insights, AND we all gained a wonderful colleague to continue to connect with beyond our ILiADS experience. I returned to ILiADS 2019 as a liaison, and found that the experience of working with a project team and connecting with the broader ILiADS community was deeply rewarding and inspiring. It would be an honor to serve in a position that helps to grow and support the liaison role in the ILiADS network and helps to bring talented, innovative and supportive individuals into the ILiADS community. I believe that the ILiADS network is playing an important role in shaping Digital Scholarship across the Liberal Arts landscape and I would be honored for the opportunity to lend my skills and talents to continuing to sustain and expand the ILiADS mission.

I will bring these skills to the Liaison Committee in order to effectively recruit, match, and train liaisons. I believe that liaisons are an essential part of the ILiADs experience and I’m excited to contribute to the community in this role.

I gladly accept nomination for the ILiADS Steering Committee as Liaison Coordinator. Having served as a liaison for two years, I have benefitted from the rewarding connections made through working with specific teams and networking among ILiADS participants. I have also seen the challenges that liaisons can face in preparing for ILiADS and supporting their assigned teams during the intensive week. I would be honored by an opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity to provide infrastructure and guidance for the always supportive community of liaisons.
